Main-submitter: delegate presenting the draft resolution
Co-submitter: delegate signing the resolution that contributed to the draft resolution
Cosponsor: delegate who wants to see the resolution debated
Lobbying and merging session: delegates with similar stances working on the same topic combine the clauses of their resolutions to create one detailed draft resolution on that topic. It is only during this session that delegates are free to roam around the room and use their computers and phones.
Open debate: during the debate of the resolution as a whole (excluding the debate of amendments).
Closed debate: during the debate of amendments.
Amendment: a change to a draft resolution on the floor.
Friendly amendement: a change supported by the main-submitter of the draft resolution (it is not debated only stated by the Chair). The resolution is automatically modified.
Unfriendly amendement: a change not supported by the main-submitter of the draft resolution. It must be debated and voted on by the committee.

Preambulatory clause: addresses the problem being discussed, recalls past actions taken, explains the purpose of the resolution, and offers support for the operative clauses.
